Suppose there are 4x poor people as rich people, and rich people live 2x longer. Then on average, there will be 8x as many poor deaths per day than rich. I think this works so long as the ratios are stable even if total population and lifespans vary arbitrarily.

Hmmm … since the percentage of the expected reproductive years is not half I they’d have to reproduce more than 8 times, specially since poverty and child mortality correlate, but sure, there’s probably an answer

Class ratio can also be maintained by net upward mobility. Historically this has been the case.
