i think i’m starting to get what people mean when they say something is “not easy but it is simple.” that confused me for so long. but i think they mean that it’s a simple *target to specify*, even if there may be many obstacles to reaching it

e.g. i’ve mentioned going to masculinity workshops that taught a bunch of vulnerability stuff around dating, pretty much their conception of the target can be boiled down to “tell the truth and have fun” which is a simple target even if many anxieties get in the way

it’s a little too early to really say but tentatively it feels like i’ve chilled out on a bunch of related things in the background. everything feels a little simpler. stuff i used to be super worried about is a little less of a big deal. feels nice. hope it persists

part of it is an abundance thing that seems like it probably came from reading everyone’s warm, thoughtful replies to my request for gratitudes. like… kindness feels more abundant? understanding feels more abundant? friendship feels more abundant? whatever it is it’s calming 🙂

Most of the simple-but-not-easy things I can think of are not social - making a living (earn more than you spend) - lose weight (burn more calories than you eat) - run a marathon (run 26.2 mi, just 0.1mi x 262!) Social support helps but is not the primary abundance type needed
