are people's feelings really hurt by being called ineffectual? I don't find it a particularly bad thing, so it doesn't seem like much of an insult.

it kinda seems like *the* bad thing to me? like, the whole point of being smart or strong or attractive or whatever is mostly being able to get what you want out of life

if you're an NPC its not just that you can't do that, but also that even if you could do that your desires aren't even your own

almost every common thing to insult about a person: their intelligence, looks, social skills, whatever seems ultimately about them being more like an NPC

even then "high-value" as a human doesn't really seem decouplable from the idea of non-NPC-ness. like, desirability is ultimately about the ability to get others to desire you, rather than some intrinsic desirability

yeah, female-stereotypical strategies and female-targeted socialization are not like this at all. they are more like "to be Good and Valuable means to become a Shmoo."
