I don’t blame them. Only kind of equity that’s still open for public participation. Though not fir much longer if hedge funds have their way.

Well ownership requires more cash outlay than renting, in equilibrium. Eg even without downpayment, principal interest taxes will be more than rent on a property. So you can always rent and invest the rest. But it’s tough when you’re not “forced to”
