Members of Web3 need to do better in eliminating complex jargon & using simpler terms: DAO ➔ Digital Cooperative Metaverse ➔ Digital Universe Yield Farming ➔ Maximizing Yield Highly Decentralized ➔ Highly Secure NFTs ➔ Digitally Authenticated Assets Any other suggestions?

Thinking more about this, LinkedInification is a kind of attempted semantic commodification. Name a vacuous official-sounding category around a unique thing with personality to claim authority over it.

Like microblogging was a singleton category with twitter as it’s only credible member for a long time. You had yammer type things but afaict they failed to beef up the category. Microblogging only became a real category after Mastodon appeared.

🤣 maybe Though in this case the term is intended as a pejorative, so maybe the logic is reversed and we do want branded. Express envy via semantic commodification, contempt via semantic differentiation. The asshole heuristic of meta-naming.

One singleton attempt at category claim from early/mid 1990s was "groupware" for the innovative collaboration tool called Lotus Notes. Lotus and later IBM tried to popularize the name, predicting (correctly, though Slack came 20 yrs. late) its importance
