Why is that a reward? What’s the point of adding that much to already ridiculous net worth that late? Seems like a burden unless you have no interests in life besides managing vast amounts of money. Compounding for the sake of compounding seems like a silly ideology.

I'm convinced its the same principle as unhealthy overeating. Something like supernormal stimulation and then supernormal behavior. Our brains evolved in a world of scarcity so we've never needed any mechanism to say "ok that's more than enough."

Not compounding for the sake of not compounding is equally uncanny. You have to try stating at least 1 concrete alternative Warren should do, let's say X, and I am afraid he would ask you in return "What is the reward? What's the point of doing X for the sake of doing?"
