Another thing I don’t yet quite understand on Web3 is swaps… it’s like any random person can create a little puddle of liquidity somewhere…

yup, defi fees tend to be cheaper too (excluding eth gas ofc). there needs to be enough liquidity for your tx, but you pay for a tx on the network both ways and a slip fee that's usually lower than you'd get from a cex. also not custodial, no ridiculous withdraw fees

Dude, you shouldn’t do your finances on a street corner, someone is going to rip you off and laugh as they take your money and you can never get it back. Do you think coin base will survive a run on it when everyone tries to withdraw dollars?
