The older I get, the more I start to appreciate aesthetics. From "doesn't matter" to "fundamental". But you might add a "do you consider yourself attractive y/n" towards this questions. It seems rather pointless if not painful to care about aesthetics, if you're not attractive.

Do you mean peoples general aesthetics interests for random things like architecture or fonts is related to their looks? Vaguely plausible hypothesis if so, though I know plenty of people with cultivated tastes in specific things who are ordinary looking or even ugly.

That is a good point. Mostly, people who already look good care and invest into their looks. But I'm not so sure good looks correlates with caring for aesthetics outside of oneself.
