In any life contest worth the participation, a level playing field is one of the main prizes worth fighting for, not a starting condition. If the playing field is level before you start it’s basically a leisure activity.

Reminded me of the “sports” my little brother and I would invent when we were young. Various ballgames, that always started with fine tuning the rules and handicaps so we both had an equal shot at winning. In retrospect that creativity was as much a part of the game as anything

Assuming that’s correct, does this change if the playing field is dependent on starting conditions?
