In 1920-21 after WWI it was clear the future belonged to the US and to a lesser extent the USSR, even though it took another 25y for the torch to be finally passed. That’s one way 2022 is different. Unclear who dominates the next 70+ years

It seems like we're definitely headed to a multi-polar style period. That said, I do think despite the US's flaws we are well positioned to adapt as necessary to the challenges of the new 🌎 given our strengths.

China isnt cut out for global hegemony, Russia is a century out of date, and the US is too tired. We may finally have statelessness by default, because all the qualified hegemons wore themselves out.

Was it really so clear? The British empire was beginning to crumble, but I'm not sure the extent and speed of its eventual demise was so easy to predict pre-WWII.

Britain/France put up very little if any resistance to America taking the top spot. America on the other hand isn't going to roll over for China.
