Is there a good book on the 15th century comparable to Barbara Tuchman’ s Distant Mirror on the 14th?

perhaps the greatest book about that period is Braudel's 2 volumes.
albeit, superficially about to the areas near the Mediterranean, it is really about how to think about a period on the cusp of modernity...

"Comparable" is a criterion with too many dimensions, but I can wholeheartedly recommend "Erasmus and the Age of Reformation" by Johan Huizinga.

It's not *quite* an apples-to-apples comparison, but John Hale's book is a really important piece of work to put in your brain.

Asked about a book I’ll recommend a podcast which is a book for your ears. Dan Carlin’s Prophets of Doom about 15-16th century Martin Luther is thrilling m.soundcloud.com/shirish-pokhar
Huizinga’s The Waning of the Middle Ages covers 14th-15th Centuries. Enjoyable classic.

What makes Distant Mirror succeed is the narrow focus on France vs England. Would love to read something as good on the New World in 15th century
