Nothing quite as satisfying as a good avocado-tomato salad. It’s a 100% ingredients, 0% cooking skill salad. All those people who claim they can’t cook I suspect just haven’t learned to shop for good ingredients. Cooking is the easy part and in many cases not I-even required.

I was the inverse I thought I “hated” ingredients until I had a major breakthrough: “Ooooooh, I just need to learn how to cook” Turns out I only hated ingredients because I didn’t like how they were handled/prepared * raw onions * bell peppers * most vegetables actually

I learned from getting dissapointed. There were some restaurant foods that were inedible to me. Eventually I got old enough to triangulate the ingredients

👌 green onions raw onions I got fish-tacos from a reputable place in San Diego & wondered how they messed it up so badly. I even gave them a 2nd chance only to have the same unusually-upsetting experience (& I ~never get upset) Turns out it was little bits of raw onion
