Are there any populated towns or cities in the world where you can look around and there’s nothing ugly in sight? (architecture, infrastructure, advertising, etc.)
Closest I’ve seen is parts of Tuscany but they were pretty rural

Exactly what Ursula K. Le Guin was getting at in “The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas”, also applies to our physical dwellings and workplaces and the infrastructure that supports them (waste management, energy production, food production…)
