We learn through stories.. stories that are sold to us.. knowingly or unknowingly.. because the truth is bitter.. so, if the "truth" doesn't surprise you it probably isn't the truth.

Macro-level worries are a drug. All seems to be a way of burning off energy that could have been used to do literally anything to improve our lives/families/communities/etc
Imagine how much of that energy gets wasted globally, daily. Imagine harnessing even a fraction of it

Not saying macro issues don’t matter. But the ratio of how much we talk/think about them to how much we actually do about any of them is waaaaay out of control.
Comes at the expense of focusing on things realistically within reach to do, no matter how local.
