Wonder at what tipping point people will start concluding places like New Orleans are not worth the trouble and start abandoning it. Is there a list of cities in order of likely abandonment/depopulation in the face of increasing extreme weather?

The thing is, New Orleans is a unique, amazing cultural gem
Now, random suburbs and towns nearby? Feels possible

I've run this simulation in my head for the USA a fair bit. TLDR: all roads lead to Denver

would they abandon it completely? or would it migrate? maybe people will set up shop fifty miles inland, where they can still visit the city easily, and overtime new new orleans will attract things from old new orleans

A surprising number of houses are still abandoned from the hurricane that hit that city in 2005.

Don't know how common this is but I vaguely remember being on geology field trip in college in IL somewhere where there had been several devastating floods. I think the Army Corps of Engineers made recommendations to a gov't entity that then bought up land and forbade rebuilding.
