I think Durkheim’s theory that simple societies have mechanical solidarity while complex ones have organic solidarity is now broken, especially under the api. You can now have a complex society based on mechanical solidarity. At least for a while.

As the skill level rise the interdependency decrease, its actually other way around. You have stronger unions and fraternity bonds among labor than with sp labor,its a survival instinct.There is a friction and competition among techies that is conspicuously absent in mech labor.
