lol This thread is not totally off base, but the idea that liberals do not pour billions of dollars into shifting culture in their favor... uh what
Quote Tweet
liberals love to dismiss this stuff as unimportant, which is part of the reason why the right can pour so many billions of dollars into shifting culture in their direction without anyone expressing concern that it will work. i'm sorry to have to tell you that it *is* working.

Well by definition liberals and progressives are far less of a monolith. Billions “get poured” by a marketplace of not-conservative culture, but there’s no coordinated institutional complex driving it coherently. MCU does not coordinate with NYT op-ed team and BLM.

That sounds believable, although my limited experience with the NGO complex suggests that there's a lot more coordination than they prefer to admit. but OP said liberals dismiss culture as unimportant... 😏

A good comparison is Soros vs the typical right wing billionaire politics entrepreneur. They latter actually do seem to have enough influence over large enough chunks of their institutional landscapes to drive some coordination. Eg fox vs rest of TV.

I can't stop my tiny dirtbag brain screaming "CIA" in the background but I don't have a strong argument against this. I do think the right are better at "bundling" together, if you will. but you can't tell me that liberals don't *care* about influencing culture

Of course they do, just not in a convergent, coordinated, hedgehog way. Even the most monolithic chunk of it, Woke, is more constructed by panicked opponents than the thing itself. It doesn’t even have a single shared symbol like say a sieg heil. Just an annoying speech style.
