Has the jet stream destabilized or shifted to a new equilibrium? 🤔
I didn’t even think about stable weather features till this year. What if the monsoons go from unreliable to completely unstable?
You’d have to run farms like hedge funds.

Small gangs of survivors racing to claim next years best land. Space-based Muskezos weather data corp sells predictions to the highest bidder and enforces with space lasers 🤔

Maps of 35C+ wet bulb zones on black market. The poor use week-old maps and get killed by sudden shifts.

Theoretically this can be managed on a global scale by planting where it's practical to plant that year. But it means giving up on individual farms with single owners, etc. Rather the state would have to manage it, or giant corporations who own farmland all over the world.

I think the new equilibrium is in symmetrical / apposite pockets of extreme weather (heat domes, localized deluges) as the jet stream oscillates wildly (Smiths ref, natch) to retain a semblance of equilibrium as ever more heat is pumped into the system.

There’s no new equilibrium until all the ice melts I believe. Until then it’s just a constantly increasing destabilization. Even when the ice melts, there is further warming to go. No upper bound to how bad it can get really.
