As I've aged, my greatest epistemological conundrum has not been veracity of knowledge. There's little honest debate I've engaged where that's a root of dispute. It's the question of authority. Once you reach my age, you can speak with authority on topics where you don't have it.

Once you have enough general worldly knowledge, and - even more importantly - the social skills of projecting authority - the lines become extremely blurred. Where you actually do not know your own capability of being correct, and accidentally project an aura of unending mastery.

I fully realize that my skills of communication and mystique in this account foster an idea of a polymath. I am truly good at it. The positive feedback I've received has lead me to speak on more and more topics. But is it actually right I follow in those incentives, and do so?
