That’s all it takes. Even less. And it’s fine… it’s being human and connecting. I’ve done it too. Both the good and bad of any kind of connecting start with even the first weak connection. It just annoys me when people want to enjoy the good and pretend the bad doesn’t exist.

Sigh. The point is you guys visibly occupy an idea space in a claiming-turf rivalrous way, just as rationalists do. That creates a cost for others to exist in the space whether or not they want to join your specific party. A ‘postrat’ tax.

I had a similar thing happen with a gaming clan I joined that started as a bunch of guys accidentally playing with each other and making clans that were spoofing preexisting ones. Eventually one stuck, and the clan grew.
