No, actually the last one is about how finance takes over eventually and doesn't care about what is being sold, only about gross margins and EBIDTA and shareholder value... financialization basically. It's brutal but it wins in the end.

then wouldnt it be more accurate to say that The Goal of Finance is to make EVERYTHING irrelevant? I agree btw , just that it becomes a bit unclear the way it follows the other assertions preceding it

On the other hand, the last line can also be flipped. If I have a legit time machine, I don't need to be particularly competent at finance (i.e. if I have unusually wide margins, I can afford to leak/waste some of that on mild levels of incompetence).
