Self-actualization is kinda overrated. It’s basically a stunt, like memorizing pi to 1000 digits or learning 7 languages.

not sure where you're going with this... do gooder/giving back is not part of this factorization... I'm partitioning based on what kind of relationship or growth dynamic governs the identity formation. I think there's horizontal and vertical ways of being a do-gooder or selfish

Self-integration/personal growth type meaning. To my mind self-actualization and do-gooderism are basically not related, though they are sometimes correlated under some ethical schemes. You can be a do-gooder without self-actualizing, and vice-versa.

then I'm not sure how it's overrated, like, getting integrated ought to make you much better at stuff because you're not constantly shooting yourself in the foot and flaking on commitments?
