Whoa, shocked at how this one came out. Infantilizing respect is unquestionably better for me. I might even prefer infantilizing contempt to adultizing respect sometimes.
I can’t watch shows with badly behaved, smartass kids like Bart. Just upsetting to me somehow.

Yep. In the Simpsons, everybody is equally clueless, but in South Park, all the adults are clueless, and the children vary in being alive to reality, and behave not just badly but contemptuously towards all adults.
My mom loves Big Bang Theory; I explain my strong aversion to it as the show's humor largely consisting of non-"normal" behavior being highlighted for derision; as feeling like some of my behaviors are similar enough that I'd be humiliated for them.
