Nope. Barely an audience this time around, been five years since the last, and honestly the whole tradition is starting to seem less relevant in the 2020s. A bit like how world’s expo fairs prob started feeling around the 60s.

My father was always excited about Olympics. Reason? To seek nationalistic pride. He had no relation with any sports whatsoever, the only reason he followed the news around them was to keep a note of medals India won.

I would be if COVID weren’t happening. I’m specifically naive/sentimental about the power of stuff like the Olympics and the World Cup to bring us closer to a global society. but it should have been cancelled/delayed again. this one is just going to be depressing at best.

I was excited to watch Sha'Carri run. Once they banned her for smoking pot, I lost interest. That act was capricious and wrong. It's disappointing that none of the other athletes stood with her.
