If I understand space-time right, and I doubt it, if you look far enough out in any direction, you’re looking at the same thing: the Big Bang 13.7 billion years ago? The famous ultra deep field image below is about 13b years ago.

This photo was taken by focusing the Hubble Telescope in the emptiest part of space for 10 days. Every blip in this photo is not a star, it's an entire GALAXY.

It’s kinda a mindfuck to realize that there’s no “outside” to the universe. And if there was we would have no way to sense it. It just vanishes up its own space time rear end because relativity. Now if it wasn’t expanding it would behave more sensibly.

I think normies have adopted an “aww nerd” patronizing attitude towards astronomy as a defense mechanism. They don’t want to contemplate this cosmic horror shit.

All fields really. I don't know that it's useful to have an opinion about it. Unless you can think of a way to increase the supply of courageous people, natural patterns will emerge to deal with the available supply in certain ways.

At a minimum, it is encouragement to the disheartened and ignored who are toiling away on a hunch or project that others discount. We are probably still wrong but at least we are trying!
