Wow. I guess the missing distinction was the "gears" being that small. The processors and such further down in the thread seemed to make sense, at least practically, but literal turning gears, wheels, rotors, etc. was a layman's revelation I guess.

I mean like the specific image of clockwork in OT. That’s still lab visions. All those other things are closer to traditional lithography for electronics. Not the tiny machines we were being promised in the 90s. I was imagining flea-sized robots back then…
