Aside: pre-crimped wires are a thing and that’s what I plan to use where possible. I need to learn manual process though, to do some components that came with uncrimped wires already attached.

This is my wax-on/wax-off plan as well.

Man, I just got into building speakers which requires endless stripping and crimping and I hated it so much.
So I just made myself do 100x strip and crimps and taught my hands to do it (hat tip @visakanv).
Now it just happens without me thinking about it.

Bought the Iwiss tool recommended plus DuPont connector kit. Considering doing a mix of JST and DuPonts for what I need.

A few months ago I was looking into what people who build experimental airplanes use. Obviously regular wirestrippers work for many purposes, but along the way I found amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000RF which turned out to be delightful.

I like Ideal brand strippers and some other brand I'm not remembering rn (CHP?). No matter what you use, buy good quality, this is not the place to skimp (you'll waste wire and won't save money). And maybe there are good automatic strippers out there I'm not aware of.

I’ve been pretty happy with my basic Klein strippers tbf
