Tech documentation (meant to be read by other techies, not users) only looks easier than doing things because it's almost never done right. I suspect, done right, documentation is harder than either thinking or doing. Tech documentation is future-AI-programming storyboards.

Amazing how bad the docs are for almost everything I've tried to use in the last 6 months. For both cheap parts and fairly expensive equipment.

Also feel that documentation has a branding problem. High-value activity that routinely doesn’t get its due so most people would rather hurry through it than take a thoughtful, deliberate approach.

Documentation seems like a misnomer for what the consumer needs from the creator. Instruction manual is more like it. The difference is explaining how something works vs how to use it.
