For benchmarking the S&P has had a 13.67 CAGR over the last 10 years Or about 2x every 5y for the last decade. I personally think business risks should model out to at least S&P under conservative assumptions.

I say 5x because at 2x i may as well buy and index fund. I’m assuming greater risk and effort in a business investment. Even if you’re “paying someone to do the work” you gotta find them.
