Recently old people (like ~60-65) don’t have a specific “old” look anymore. They look like slightly run-down young people. Old used to be a specific personal aesthetic until recently. Distinct fashions, hairstyles etc. Now old people just do young looks, but poorly.

Re. the Friends cast - hasn't this always been a Hollywood thing though? 'I'm old but I still dress like I'm 32' Do agree that by and large there has been a shift in older people eschewing the 'I'm 55+ now' look...

I guess everyone just wears the same thing now? like its hard to find clothes that say "hey I'm almost 30" even though I want to.

the 'modern rock' stations are still playing shit from when I was in high school (94-96) as if it came out yesterday, so I'm guessing from gen x up, there's just no concept of being 'old' anymore.

Maybe it’s a collapse of normie fashion across generations. High fashion and trendy fashion are distinct, but everyone else is just, “IDK I guess I’ll shop at The Gap.”
