Please stop calling total lunar eclipses “blood moons”, like some kind of throwback to 1257. I heard a radio presenter asking if the moon would be “a bit red” for the days before and after the eclipse. Grow the fuck up, any child can understand what’s happening in an eclipse.

Every lunar eclipse is red, so this is particularly silly. And I genuinely dislike “supermoon” type tags. Normies really do seem to think they’ll see huge moons. The difference is not even noticeable without measurement IMO.

Another misleading name is meteor “shower” People expect to see something like a rain of light The most I’ve ever seen is like 6-7 in an hour during a shower, so like 10 minute gaps. It’s an event for long-exposure cameras not human eyes.
