Neither Elon haters, nor fans, have grokked the extent to which he simply does not solve for money, but for things beyond money. Though bitcoin-emissions arguments are nearly 100% disingenuous, this is still a great move to add to decarbonization incentives.

(disingenuous, as in -- mainly chosen for their convenience in targeting people you've decided to hate rather than for their actual importance in the larger decarbonization calculus)

Money is a good servant but poor master. One reason I appreciate people like Elon is they make it very clear who is treating it as a master vs. who is treating it as a servant. Those who serve money are simply not very interesting people, and it shows in their every action.

Exiting before the plebs, as expected...

Unsubstantiated theory: Elon Musk has a substantial personal Bitcoin investment. Buying it via Tesla (7.7% of cash reserves) & announcing it, pumps up his investment, gets others to buy. He'll exit the private one w/big profits, long before plebs. 1/2 cnb.cx/3pwg0Kz

Nope, this is simply wrong. There is plenty of evidence that he's just not about the money. Love him or hate him, and whether or not you think he's an asshole or immoral, he's really about bigger things than money.

So...the "rapidly increasing use of fossil fuels" to mine Bitcoin is a new phenomenon, i.e. something that has just now occurred post-Tesla investment? I'm a father of five and have a better than decent Bullshit Detection Meter. This is amateur level.
