A kanban board is a failed gantt chart the way scrambled eggs are a failed omelet

I'd *like* to have an always current Gantt chart
BUT I only know enough to maintain a Kanban board
AND only enough ambition to run GTD
BUT I really only have enough energy to make ad hoc to-do lists
AND only for a few days in a year
So really my productivity style is "mess"

Kidding aside, every productivity approach is both a mood optimized for certain mental states, and a mode optimized for certain work ground realities. It either fits both or it doesn't work.

I haven't had a workable system for about 6 years when I last finally fell off the GTD wagon kinda permanently. The fit has failed at both ends. One reason I've been excited about Roam is that it fits one end (the work ground) well. It might fit my mood too soon.

1. Should fit work (not content agnostic universal framework)
2. Should be decentralized to specialist-tool loci BUT allow for a general-central view
3. Should support iteration as close to 'ship' as possible. Minimal post-processing before ground reality feedback.

Venkatesh what nonsense. An omelette is clearly forgotten, abandoned scrambled eggs.
