UGP is basically running that same strategy on a tiny scale right now. Granting small amounts of capital to one-off projects that benefit everyone.

But as UGP grows its budget, and more grant recipients prove to be valuable and worth sustaining, things will expand. UNI treasury can be funding fully independent teams to keep growing the same underlying ecosystem.

Hypothetically, a perfect example would be . Rainbow is arguably the best Uniswap integration out there, and its existence is extremely valuable to the protocol. Would be a great use of UNI treasury funds to just give Rainbow $1-2M per year to keep building.

I'd propose this to governance if I had the votes. Really easy to argue why it's better for Rainbow to be funded / acquired by the UNI treasury than take on more VC money. We actually *need* a mobile wallet with native Uniswap integrations to exist for Uniswap to be accessible.

Rainbow could be an independent lab operating under the budget of the UNI treasury. And this could just be the first of many. UNI isn't just a company. It can be a decentralized constellation of amazing teams.
