I'm reminded of the early episode of Breaking Bad where Walter White makes the high purity blue meth for the first time and the kid doesn't even recognize the quality of the stunt. Also Snape in half-blood prince with his mods on the recipe for potion which Harry uses.

My high school and college chemistry labs seem rather sad by comparison. Just the beginner salt tests, and I think once in college an oscillating reaction

I hope it really does violate apartment lease agreement. He has a second chanel where he goes deeper into the setup, and behind the scene things. NileBlue he calls it. Now a days the budget for each of his video is close to 1000$ in terms of raw materials and equipment.
