Lol, Google Translate Gell-Mann amnesia moment. It thinks the Hindi word should be βmilaapβ which makes no sense (thatβs βjoinβ as in βjoin in matrimonyβ). AFAIK thereβs no word for it and people just use the English word, including non-English speaking electricians.

I've also heard that Mandarin now has like 30 words for solder joints, which is another fun measure.

Pripayat is the verb, to solder something on. pri is the additive piece, pay is the root. So payat' would be the action of soldering, payka is the process, pripayat' is to attach something by soldering, otpayat' is to detach, pripoy is solder the metal, and so on.
