This point is counter to my understanding of learning theory. This kind of unconscious intuitive state is the signature of high performance but not learning. Active rapid learning is usually accompanied by high levels of self-consciousness which feels very unnatural.

So this is about motivation? The natural feeling (even if it’s tucked between stretches of difficult conscious effort) is a sign of a self-propelling interest in something for its own sake. Is that the gist?
