It takes time to increase energy so if you work out 30min a day, plus 30 min recovery, your energy level in the remaining 17 waking hours needs to go up by at least 100*(18/17 - 1) = 5.88% to make it worthwhile. It’s a scam. Most patterns of working out don’t pay off 🤬

Did first proper barbell weights session after 8 months of closed gyms on Wednesday and am still sore and low-energy 3 days later 😶. Pre- gym closures it was full recovery in 48h.

And this despite the fact that I took 10-25 lbs off all my exercises thinking that should be enough to ease back in. It wasn’t. For 8 months I only did some irregular light dumbbell stuff at home at like 30-40 lbs off barbell levels. Not enough for maintenance clearly.

It's not meant to be for the same day uplift. It's the price you pay so your energy doesn't dip in the future. It's maintenance to stave off depreciation.

You gotta factor in injury/illness avoidance. Working out increases resilience like 100X, so if the goal is "maximize productive/high quality life hours" working out is a no brainer

+1 on sleep. Go to the top of the funnel. Check your vitamin D levels. Get IV fluids monthly w/B 12. That’s my hack for slowly and progressively increasing energy via good resetting and recovery 😛
(Right after you get fluids, make sure you knock out a big, high leverage task)
