With covid, no one has anything to do indoors from 4-8pm that typically obfuscates specific sunset timing, so all daylight patterns are so much more notificed

It is my impression too. There is a bill in CT to move to Atlantic time, but only when some surrounding states do it too (and no time-switching.)

I don't share this impression. However, the Discussion has been rising slowly every year. We in Europe are already on the way of abandoning it. Will take some more time, die to Europea legal processes.
