Went to Knott’s berry farm. For $45 you get to wander around an amusement park with all rides shut down but with food and game stalls open. You get 5 food/drink items with your ticket from a restricted menu. Most bizarre experience of my pandemic life. Both sad and vaguely fun.

The game is standing in line for food and trying to maximize utility from your 5 items budget. Very cleverly basic staples like water and coffee are not on the free list. I wanted coffee but had to settle for an Irish coffee 🤔

Utterly packed. People are truly desperate for entertainment. Mostly adults, lots of kids too, and I was wondering if they were upset at not being able to ride the rides.

It’s the boysenberry festival. Boysenberries are fake crossbred berries made in a secret government lab. These people put boysenberries on everything. It is... not great.

Man, I have such great memories from that place when I was a kid with my grandparents. Glad it's still around.
