How come we have mechanical and computing multi-tools (Swiss army knife, iPhone) but no electronics multi tool? Multimeters only do sensing 🤔

There really isn’t much useful non-destructive actuation you can do to electronics I guess. MacGyver had a couple of episodes where he shorts a potentiometer on a laser pointer to make it more powerful (apparently they’re capable of more output than the design used)

Analog and modular synthesizers, for one. All audio circuits, really.
Crystal radios are another (radio, tv, wifi, telephone, Bluetooth)/
Electronics are very hard to have user-facing multi tools because the interface protocols are arbitrary and must be interpreted to be useful

The ultimate electronic multi tool is the microprocessor.
Part of it might also be that purpose-built equipment generally does the job better. Food processors are multitools, as are drills (change bits), and saws (change blades).

Like a microcontroller with preset functions quickly loadable by a tap on phone app?
