I'm struggling to make sense of how all asset prices are going upupup, but inflation in CPI terms remains hovering around zero/negative, and bond yield curves suggest low inflation expectations. What am I missing.
inflation so confusing for me. I try to be specific:
Fed uses PCE to influence policy which obviously influences equities.
CPI is used by others(I forget who, educate me please!)
Both of the above IMO is bs.
Consumers looks at reality (wood, materials, food). It's all crazy.
Plywood & lumber now rising at its fastest pace since '74.
Agricultural commodities +25% YoY
Base metals +20% YoY
Gasoline +20% YoY
Nat gas +26% YoY
Inflation is alive and well but the Fed didn’t get the memo.
Oh wait….
They did….
But they can’t do anything about it.
