Mexicans have been calling each other 'king' for ages, to the point racially white Mexicans abused it so much other ethnicities make fun of them/us. See "mirrey". A spillover to America is unlikely though.

If the internet vernacular began in America it probably came from Black people, who have been responsible for most of the linguistic innovation in this country. I would suspect that queen came first.
