Yeah let's please not make this the norm. I get the impulse, but I think the second order effects for legitimate journalism would be way too severe (actual sources would never talk, ever again, for fear of recordings leaking). The cops being taped is categorically different

Oh I thought this was pretty much already standard practice. The reference to 'body cams' made me think of some institutional fix to 'accountability' on the professional end of things. By all means, record y'all's talks with journalists :D

I can't believe I'm about to nitpick you, but like...metaphors work cause they're parallel to meaning. Body cams are for the doers, not for the doers-on-to. Imma defend my accidental misreading ;)

I know my bad 🤣 I spotted that, but went with it anyway since they’re a symbol of accountability and don’t work anyway but mark the cops as not presumptively incorruptible.
