"debunking" has a godel-like problem any debunking-oriented epistemology more complex than simple fraud-detection is going to basically end up a religion... things like "meta-analysis" or "fact checking" are like peano arithimetic in this analogy

ie, ideas like "this is fake news," "this is fake science" are generally going to be ill-posed leaps of faith towards illegible trust, just as "scientific consensus says" or "there is no evidence for..." (ie confirmatory and disconfirmatory meta postures are equally shaky)

funny, we thought "science" was an epistemological/ontological successor to "religion" but now it seems the opposite is the case: religion sits on top of science... pre-scientific religion was just screwing around with toys, we've only recently invented *real* religion

Sir, sorry but I have slightly different view on Science n Religion. Religion is the combination of Setting up the rules to build or bind society. Also we put many unsolved mysteries under the umbrella of Religion/unknown driving force. 1/2

Modern "real" religion only begins to aspire to the power of pre-Enlightenment religion. Even Qs. Issue is that post-Enlightenment we are literally unable to understand how that religion worked. And it wasn't science that really usurped magic...it was money.
