In some ways I feel like I’m in a moshpit, with surging waves of humans, being swept up by the current of the crowd. I’ve been in these IRL. Trying to “stand your ground” can mean getting trampled. I feel like I’m glancing over the waves trying to make eye contact with my friends

A tall guy like you should know.... if you don’t flow with the crowd, good chance they’ll be the ones who get trampled, not you

this is a digression but -IME height isn’t actually an advantage in these crowd swells. You get the benefit of being able to see better, but the real action is happening at feet & body level, and it’s prob better to have a lower center of gravity. Once you loose footing it’s over

Just need to alexander technique your way out. Stand up straight and tall like Superman and they flow around you.
