I’ve mostly dealt with the past by distilling past life artifact collections into tiny museums in little boxes that I can pull out and look at when I want the memories, but don’t take up much physical space
maybe the past only becomes baggage if you put it in suitcases to carry with you 
otherwise its more like poop
