About a third of the way through A Memory called Empire and it's magnificent. Exact the kind of smart well written sci fi that I love. Had a lot of Iaim M Banks about it too

*whispering* I didn't like the three body trilogy. Dune was kinda.. meh? So satisfying to read something with a wide imagination *and* good writing.
