She was a Left Authoritarian rather than Right but the events of 1971-77 read so close to the Trump saga, it’s a distinction with a difference. The only difference is she succeeded where Trump failed.

Indira Gandhi really was terrifyingly horrible. Good thing her descendants have been too inept to build on her dark legacy. Got to thinking about this via thinking of young children today who will be too young to remember living through Trump and Covid. I was 3 when the emergency ended and have zero memories, but my parents obviously do and it must have indirectly affected me.
