Around you meaning Twitter or RL? I find Twitter extremely confusing on this. You can set it up so it’s packed with people of an intelligence level where you’d be very surprised to meet one person like that at a random party.

I think performance has a lot to do with it. Some people are playing dumb - some are trying to present themselves as geniuses. Twitter is a performative medium - even though this is quite intimate one. Social reality IRL is performative medium too. Dumb is my love language?
